Shari’s Fight

As many of our family & friends are now aware, last week my sister-in-law, Shari, was diagnosed w/ Stage 4 Terminal Pancreatic/Stomach Cancer. Her prognosis is not what anyone wants to hear or accept. Shari has a tumor that can’t be removed & there is no cure. There’s a 20% chance of a 1 year survival. Shari is currently in the hospital being treated with Chemo to relieve some of her symptoms. She is also on morphine to help with the pain from the fluid build up.

In true Shari fashion, she refuses to accept that prognosis without a fight! Most days, she is in good spirits & feels up to giving this battle her all! She is blessed with so many people that truly love & adore her & we are all ready to fight with her.

Shari & my brother, Allen, have 3 beautiful daughters. Lindsay is 25, Samantha is 24 & Jaclyn is 19. Shari also has a slight obsession with her doggie babies, Bentley & Blu. All she wants is to be home, comfortable & enjoying some sun in her yard with her family.

We don’t know what the future holds. The goal right now is keeping Shari in good spirits, loved & spending extra family time. Once home, she will continue Chemo, lots of dr visits & have a home visiting nurse.

My brother has been, naturally, by her bedside everyday. He bares all of the weight on his shoulders being the sole provider, dealing with his own emotions of a sick wife & most of all keeping it together for Shari & his daughters. My brother has always been an amazing man & never falls short of his duties as a husband, provider, father, brother & uncle.

As you can imagine, along with this being an extremely devastating time for the family, comes the worry of finances. The goal of this fundraiser is to help relieve some stress of their lost of wages, hospital bills, doctor visits, medications, etc..
