Donate to help my family live in peace

I'm Ali Chanaa from Belgium, and I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of the Eman Salem.

My name is Eman Salem, and I am a 41-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. My family and I have endured unimaginable hardships since the events of October 7th, 2023. My husband, who is 50 years old, and our four children—Khaled, 17, Malak, 16, Salma, 13, and Mustafa, 7—along with my husband’s 81-year-old father, who has serious medical issues, have all been deeply affected by this ongoing crisis.

Prior to October 7th, our lives, though not without challenges, were filled with hope and a sense of stability. We had a home, jobs, and our children were eagerly attending school.

However, the war turned our lives upside down in an instant. We lost our home and our jobs, and our children were deprived of their education and healthcare. The basic necessities we once took for granted were suddenly out of reach.

We have been displaced multiple times, moving from one unsafe location to another. We left behind our home, our belongings, and our dreams. My children are suffering from malnutrition, sleep deprivation, and the constant fear of bombings and explosions that surround us. This continuous state of unrest has taken a heavy toll on us physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Mustafa cries frequently due to the terrifying sounds of bombs and explosions.

The place we once called home is now nothing but rubble. My husband, a computer engineer, lost his job when the office tower where he worked was bombed, destroying numerous companies and private clinics housed within it.

We have lost friends and loved ones, including my father and my husband’s mother, who died from extreme fear, diaetes and gangrene and malnutrition. Our children are still grieving for their grandparent's, and we now live in a tent that lacks the most basic standards of living.

Our suffering has been ongoing for about seven months, during which we have faced the cold, rain, and a lack of winter clothing.

### Struggles of Daily Life

We no longer have access to the basic necessities of life—no home, no water, no electricity, and no gas. We are forced to cook over an open fire. Access to water is a constant struggle.

The war has taken away our hope and shattered our dreams. I am deeply concerned for the future of my children. Each of them has dreams and aspirations that now seem impossible to achieve. My eldest son, Khaled, was supposed to start his university journey and begin shaping his future.

I am reaching out, hoping that my plea will not be ignored. We need help to rebuild our lives, save what is left of us, and create a future for our children. They deserve the chance to complete their education, pursue their dreams, and contribute positively to their community and country.

We are in dire need of help to find safety and provide for our family. Your support can help my children complete their studies, achieve their dreams, and build their futures. Thank you to everyone who reads, shares, and supports our story.

With hope and gratitude,
Eman Salem
