Eating Disorders Should Not Be Treated By Hospice
Donation protected
CK is our 19 yr old daughter and has been struggling with anorexia and OCD for over 5 years but is officially undiagnosed due to other underlying comorbidities.
She has been through all kinds of facilities & hospitals including Albany Medical Center (at least 25 times), Saratoga Hospital, St. Peters, Veritas in NC and Center for Discovery in CT and Walden (the list goes on). Right now she has two tubes a J-tube and G-Tube and a permanent suprapubic catheter. She has seen over 25 psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists.
At this point we can’t find anyone who can and is willing to help her further. The medical profession has failed our daughter. Dr.’s and hospital legal teams have insisted the best thing to do is to call HOSPICE. Insurance companies have prevented eating disorder facilities from accepting her, even after we’ve said we would pay out of pocket. We are committed to do everything it takes to keep our daughter alive and we won’t give up on her. If you or a family you know, has dealt with similar issues with Severe Eating Disorders and OCD, please share any advice you can!
Our insurance has failed us and the court system has failed our right to reserve our right to have our daughter be given nutrients. Our legal and medical bills fighting for our daughters life have become overwhelming. Please help in anyway you can with any advice, information or a donation.
