Help the Lomax family

Our beautiful friends Danielle and Ryan Lomax need our help!

Their happy, healthy 7 year old son Harry had a seemingly small fall whilst out exploring with his Dad and brothers in Carbo, Mexico yesterday morning. He merely tripped over a concrete block, landing on his abdomen. Initially it seemed as though he had done nothing more than wind himself but it quickly became apparent there was something very wrong with him. He was vomiting, pale, dizzy and disoriented.

Danielle and Ryan quickly rushed him to the nearest hospital where a CT showed he had perforated his spleen and had free fluid in his abdomen. He was taken straight to theatre where he spent the next 4.5hrs. His spleen was beyond repair and was found to have 600mls of blood in his abdomen cavity, so he underwent an emergency splenectomy.

Thankfully Harry is now recovering in hospital but will need ongoing care for some time.

Now here is where they need our help, they have now found out that their travel insurance had lapsed and the trauma insurance they hold here in Australia won't pay out as this is not deemed 'traumatic' enough. Their hospital bills in less than 48hrs have already exceeded $20,000 Australian dollars!

Obviously you cannot put a price on your child's life and the most important thing is that Harry is alive and will be ok but if we could help ease their financial burden at this already traumatic time I know they would be beyond grateful.
