Chicago/ND - Wuhan Medical Supplies
Donation protected
By early March, we’ve successfully delivered all of our final two-round of purchased medical supplies to 8 hospitals in and near Wuhan. We’d like to sincerely thank everyone for joining us to together create a safer environment where professionals treat patients and contain the spread of COVID-19.
As the situation in other parts of the world worsens, we’re dedicated to helping hospitals in need. While our fundraiser to help Wuhan has ended, a group of Notre Dame students and faculty, including members who worked for this fundraiser, have come together to help collect and procure medical supplies for hospitals in St. Joseph County, IN, Cook County, IL, and other parts of the U.S. & world. Our thoughts are with the families and communities affected by COVID-19. And we believe that as we continue to support each other, we’ll together weather through this difficult time.
Respectfully,
Chicago ND Volunteering Team

Dear All,
We are the Chinese community in the Greater Chicago Area. Today, we are reaching out in representation of a group of volunteered ND students and alumni, as well as students and graduates of schools in the Greater Chicago Area. We hope to fundraise to purchase medical aid supplies for medical staff of hospitals in Wuhan, China, where the severe coronavirus broke out.
Coronavirus is a contagious disease that has infected over a thousand people and caused the death of 25 people (update: as of 1/27/2020, at least 80 deaths). Yet, hospitals and individuals in Wuhan are experiencing a shortage of basic medical supplies. Therefore, we are hoping that you could donate so that we can purchase more medical supplies and help relieve the situation.
Currently, we are making connections with medical supply companies to purchase more up-to-standard medical supplies, including N95 respirator masks, protective suits and goggles. We hope to acquire as many supplies as we can and send it to the disease frontier ASAP. We are collaborating with Chinese communities from other schools and are half way from reaching our goal. However, we are right now challenged with the need for financial support. And your contribution is really going to make a difference.
We will also need financial support to make this work. You can support us by going to our Gofundme page. We will share in a follow- up email about how much we raised, what we purchased, and where the supplies distribute to.
Thank you for your willingness to help!
Sincerely,
---
Please note that the fund was withdrawn by Xiqiao Xu, the managing partner of Chinese Trading and Investment Association (CTIA), a non-profit organization that we partner with to procure and deliver medical supplies. Xu transfered the money into the organizational account of CTIA for relief uses.
