WWII Veteran Wayne Perry's 103rd Birthday

The fundraiser is to have 2 types of WWII era aircraft flyover Lake Conroe for Mr. Perry’s party Nov 19, 2022, 1:30pm.  

Our minimum goal is for 2 AT-6 for  $1,200.  There are different packages to reserve these 2 aircraft, the high goal being $2,950.  If we have more than enough funds for a flyover, the remainder will be donated to the Montgomery FD and Willis HS ROTC.

Mr. Wayne Perry, WWII veteran will be 103 and we will celebrate him on Nov 19, 2022 at 1:30pm. with a parade and birthday party!

He is the grandson of a Civil War soldier and heard first-hand accounts of the war on the battlefield. In 1944, after being married and having his first child, Wayne was enlisted into the Army. One year after boot camp and his assignments in Indiana and Alabama, he was deployed overseas and landed in Le Havre, France, on April 4, 1945. Wayne saw the brutality of war and as his grandfather did, recounted his experiences, not for glory or sympathy - but for the knowledge of what war was to him. He honorably served one year after the German surrender as the sergeant over one of the prison camps in the French zone of Allied-occupied Germany before coming home to his family to work at his farm in Ohio in March 1946.

His neighborhood in Willis, Texas, wishes to honor him on his birthday with a flyover organized by the CAF Gulf Coast Wing.  The local Fire Department will lead him in a parade of residents to Lake Conroe, where he will watch the flyover, then to the neighborhood clubhouse for a party.

Wayne is an avid lover of history and an ordained minister. He loves sitting in the driveway, waving to people passing by and visiting with those who stop in.
