Service Dog for Madyson

Donation protected
On February 2nd, 2016 my oldest daughter Madyson was rushed to the hospital. She was in the beginning stages of diabetic shock. We found out later she had DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis).  We had no idea she was a type 1 diabetic. She was sent to Randall Children's Hospital in Portland. Maydson had to spend 2 days in pediatric ICU fighting, before they moved her out of the ICU to the genreal pediatric recovery floor.  This entire event occured on her younger sister's birthday.

Madyson has been such a champion since she's been home. She has been extremely responsible with giving herself insulin, testing her sugar levels, and staying on track with her food intake.

I am a single mother to three amazing girls. I am hoping to raise enough money to help pay for a diabetic service dog for Madyson.

Diabetic Service Dogs provide quality medical alerts to insulin dependent diabetics. Madyson's pancreas does not produce the insulin she requires. Not only will this dog provide Madyson and myself with reassurance - it will also be a great companion for my animal loving girl.

For those of you who know me, asking for help is very difficult. Insurance will not cover any cost of this dog because it's not considered a mandatory medical need. Giving Madyson a dog that can help save her from diabetic spike or low will be nothing short of an extra set of hands I desperatly need.  Without this dog, I foresee a long journey of hospital visits.
