NPR for the Rio Grande Valley

Donation protected
The Rio Grande Valley is now the largest market in the U.S. without its own NPR station.  We are raising funds to help launch a brand new station, with more power,  that will serve the entire Rio Grande Valley.  This new station will endeavor to carry on the broadcasting tradition that 88FM (now sold) maintained for 30 years.  The NPR programming so loved in the valley, such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air will continue on the new station.  In addition, some of the most popular local programming will be retained as well.  The ultimate end is to build a first-rate NPR station that will serve the educational and cultural needs of the entire RGV with top-notch programming.

The funding raised here will go to the 501c3 NonProfit group - SaveNPRintheRGV for the purpose of launching the new NPR station either independently or in cooperation with The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley.

The funds will be sent by check to Dr. W. F. Strong and then given to SaveNPRintheRGV or directly to UTRGV if they agree to create the NPR station on campus, whichever is most prudent and expedient at the time.  Dr. Dominguez will keep photocopies of the checks and certify that the funds have been transferred appropriately.
