Luna Mae needs an MRI

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Keri ; and I'm one of the parents of Luna Mae (her dad is Cody ) . We got Luna at 8 weeks old two months before the pandemic happened. We moved to Arizona for a while, and life was just great . Eventually we moved back to Seattle , and we have enjoyed life together .

about a month ago Luna started to have "episodes" Focal seizures . Partially aware seizures . Hours long Aura (pre-seizure )
hours long post-ictal (post seizure)

these episodes have her pacing , whining, crying, being scared, losing the ability to use her back legs, panicking .

we started her on Zonisimide, phenobarbital, and gabapentin.
this medicine itself makes her lose her appetite , she hasn't had a good meal in weeks.

I had a vet appt last Thursday (350$) to have blood work done to make sure she was at therapeutic levels of phenobarbital
(she was)

but unfortunatly thesw medicines have not releived her from these "episodes "

these episodes are happening every day.
the whining, crying, loss of back legs. lasting an hour or so at a time.

about a week an a half ago we woke up to Luna post seizure and she was out of it and panting like she was having a heatstroke. she eventually came out of that episode .

a few days ago luna became unconsious. this was most likely due to a seizure. she was out for at least 30 minutes. we rushed her to emerald emergency vet. ($150)She ended up waking up moments after they took her in the back, they didn't have to do anything .

I spoke to the ER doctor, and he told me about treating with steroids when we are unable to get an mri : he didn't think it was Lunas time to go yet .

luna also is still having good times. we have been going to Alki and Hiawatha park to run around when she was feeling "good"
she loves to play fetch , and carry her stuffed animals around .

Today I went to Blue Pearl downtown Seattle to visit the Neurology Dept.($270) The Dr saw all of my videos , and we spoke of how Luna hadn't been getting better with her current medications.

Most likely Luna has a Brain Infection / or a Brain Autoimmune disease .
one of these sometimes presents in spayed females age 2-5 years old.

the only way to truly know what is going on, is to schedule an mri+ spinal tap

this procedure is not cheap , the Dr said it's about 4500$

if we don't get enough money for the mri, we can try treating blindly with steroids

she said this can be dangerous though but it is an option that is used

dangerous because the stress on the liver in conjunction with the phenobarbital.

we left the appt today and she increased my dose of zonisimide for her, and she said we would talk again on Monday .

I am posting this because some of my friends encourage me to, they wanted to help me and Luna . That means so much to me. Luna feels like a child to me, she is a member of my family and she deserves a good life . I think anything I get can really help. My first goal is getting some money towards the mri
and if I can't get close enough , starting steroids and keeping an eye on her. I do not have care credit and I do not have credit cards. Unfortunately, my credit is not good enough for those so I'll be paying for everything upfront

ill update as soon as I can
thanks for reading this
I love Luna so much
