Kayaking for a cause
Tax deductible
Hello! My name is Axel Wright. I am starting 8th grade this year at Santa Barbara Middle School and this year on my birthday, my parents recommended that I try something difficult to mark turning 13. I decided to kayak 13 miles from Anacapa Island to Oxnard to raise money and awareness for addressing homelessness. I chose this because it feels like the most substantial problem in Santa Barbara. It bums me out to see people living on the street because I know that our community can do something to help them, but most people don’t.
My plan is to kayak solo 13 miles to raise $1300. My parents will be in a support boat nearby. I will do the journey soon-- at the end of August or early Sept on a calm day.
A donation of any size will help make an impact! I will keep you posted on my progress and will send pictures from the journey. Thank you so much for your support.
