Hi. We are Renee’s aunties Jaz and Sherie. Renee’s mama is our cousin.

Our niece was in a car accident on Thursday 31/08/2023 in Perth and has fractures in all 3 bones in her L2 in her back. She has broken ribs, bruised kidneys, bruised bowels, minor internal bleeding, fluid around her heart , fluid in her pelvis, at risk of lung collapse as well as possible fractures in her leg.

Her mama Ruby is in NZ taking care of Renee’s 12yo brother Wyatt, who has had major surgery on his back due to being born with Spina Bifida. Wyatt has only just yesterday been discharged from Starship Hospital. With Wyatt being in recovery, him and Ruby can’t fly to Perth to be with Renee at this trying time.

Renee’s dad, Logan, flew back to Perth yesterday to be with her. So with both parents who can’t be with their children at the same time, it is testing on them all.

Once Renee has had surgery, her recovery is going to be a long road but at this point it will be 6months or longer and with that said, she will not be able to lift or hold her 1yo son.

Renee’s parents have had to take unpaid leave to care for their kids in two different countries and the responsibilities of taking care of business at home doesn’t stop and neither does the care of Renee’s son. So this is where we need your help.

Renee will need a wheel chair and other equipment for her recovery once she is released from hospital. We know it won’t be cheap. Baby’s daycare fees and everyday essentials don’t stop. The bills keep coming and also the travel costs to and from the hospital are costly along with the outrageous parking fees. We also need help to get mum and brothers to Perth to be with Renee once Wyatt is fit enough to fly.

We have set up a GoFundMe to help us achieve what we need to do for our kids. Any amount from .5c is highly appreciated. The best recovery for our kids is to help them to be together.

Update 16/09/2023

Renee has an infection in her back and has to go back into surgery again tomorrow. They will leave it open and clear as much of the infection as they can. The pain has worsened more than it ever was and her time in hospital has lengthened. 

 Initially she was allowed to be discharged to recover at home with family but ended up back in Royal Perth Hospital, therefore this journey will take longer than anticipated.
