Hello Peeps! Never thought I'd be using this platform, but here we are.
So, in a nutshell...got Covid back in Sept 2020..spent 11 days in ICU. For me, Covid killed the vagal nerve in my stomach that helps process food. Instead I've been consistently throwing up food and water since. Over the last 2 years, I've tried a variety of different procedures that were supposed to help, but didn't. From a POEM procedure to Mediport for fluids and GJ tube for feedings, but this only allowed me to get sepsis! Which at this point the doctors said try a gastric bypass it should help stop the nausea and vomiting. Fast forward to current day...that surgery did not help with Nausea and Vomiting, it just added on more things ..(like that commercial but wait there's more...) dry heaving, muscle atrophying from lack of nutrition, blurred vision, and now weakness on both upper and lower extremities. My PCP has made me start physical therapy since I was literally tripping over my own feet, and it started to feel like cement blocks were attached to my feet. Which has blatantly showed me that I'm seriously weak on left side. Luckily this has been covered by insurance. However, my doctors also wanted me to start IV fluids since I haven't been able to keep much down. Unfortunately, this isn't covered by my insurance. It's $190 per visit, which means 3 visits a week $600 × 4 wks = $2400 a month. Since the beginning of my Covid experience everyone has asked "how can I help" or keep me posted....well this is me asking for help. My parents and close friends have been picking up the tab, but now we need help...
