My Deal
As many of you know, I am pursuing my Masters in Social Work at the University of Maryland. As part of my education, I work two days a week at Edgecombe Circle Elementary School, a Title 1 School in Northwest Baltimore, where I provide services to students manifesting social, emotional, behavioral, and/or learning difficulties, which interfere with their capacity to have a successful school experience.
The Mission
I have decideed to create an after school homework club every Thursday to help our students reach their academic potental. A large percentage of our student population has difficulty completing their homework because they are behind grade level, do not get the support they need at home, and/or have many other challenges they face in their lives. The homework club will help students get the individualized support they need to succeed in the classroom. In addition to homework help, the homework club space will create a low-stress, friendly environment to develop positive peer friendships.
Why do we need your help?
1) I want to provide a snack to give the students the brain power they need to be successful!
2) I want to provide rewards for grade improvement.
3) I want to buy extra school supplies.
4) I want to have money to throw a small party at the end of the end of the semester.
