Wynn 4 Life Foundation

My name is Alana McLaughlin and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of the Wynn 4 Life Foundation - Here's more from Tiffany Martin, Wynn's mom.

I walked into my son's room at 5:45 am on the morning of March 31st - his alarm was blaring and I couldn't wake him up. He was ice cold and was not breathing. We tried so hard to bring him back, but he was already gone. Wynn had taken a pill that night, this pill was laced with fentanyl.

This is a difficult, nasty, and sometimes very ugly world we are living in and I pray that Wynn's death can help others make good choices and survive. That will be his GIFT to them.

I appreciate all the support I got from the previous GoFundMe. Now I want to go a step further. I am starting the Wynn 4 Life Foundation - to help the kids that are struggling and to serve my purpose, the light that has come out of such loss.

I want kids to know you are not what you did. That's not who you are. They need to understand who God created them to be so they can live up to it. They need to have someone speaking life into them. Trust me, they already know everything they have done wrong. I am unsure what's happening, only God knows, but I have a burning desire to be with hurting kids during this time. I understand them. They have a purpose in this life. All battles are fought & won in our minds. We get to create our lives. No matter what we have gone through, we can overcome it. We can do much more than we realize, and I want to help kids see this.

I wanted everyone to know what the funds have been used for. Many kids come over several times a week, and I try to feed them. On Sundays, after we go to church, we go kayaking, and I try to pay. On the 4th, we rented a cabin and fished, kayaked, whitewater rafted, and enjoyed time together outside. We are building a community of individuals who need to be loved and need to lean on each other. So because of your generosity, I have given back to many amazing kids. Whether it's teaching a kid how to drive, encouraging them to get a job, giving them a meal, taking them to church, kayaking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, fishing, skiing, or just being there for them, knowing I'm a safe place that will never judge but I will give lots of truth and grace. Kindness and generosity has made this possible, and I will continue as long as the Lord leads me. It's "Wynn 4 Life" every day, and thank you for making that possible for all these kids.

In March, we plan on taking Wynns's ashes to Peak 9 Breckenridge; it was his favorite place to ski. I told him to stay out of the trees, but that's exactly where we are going, to the trees! After Wynn conquered his fear of skiing & heights - it empowered him. It helped his anxiety so much. I want all these other kids to know you can do much more than hang out and watch video games or get high. I want to take these kids on as many different experiences as possible. Wynn would have loved that. A lot of kids are bored, I know Wynn was. If I can continue what I am doing I am sure that we will see a change.
