WYTX 2022 Fundraiser

I am Jack Anthony, the program director of WYTX in Rock Hill, SC. for the last 6+ years, our radio home has been 98.5 FM in Rock Hill, SC as the campus radio station for York Technical College. During that time, the station was fully funded and I got paid to do what I love the most: create great radio. In September, York Tech told me they have decided to get out of the broadcast business. This means they will be taking our FM radio station off the air on 12/31/2021. The good news is, we get to keep our digital assets (stream, mobile apps, social media accounts, etc.) and continue our programming online.

Our first hurdle in gaining our independence will be paying our royalties (Soundexchange, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) which come due in January. All radio stations who stream online have to pay these fees annually. We need to raise $5,000 to pay these initial expenses so that we may continue streaming. Once the fees are paid in January, we will be good-to-go for the rest of the year.

Programming WYTX for the last six years has been the honor of a lifetime and an amazing experience. There is so much left to the story. If you have enjoyed the great music and programming we have brought to you on WYTX for the past 6 years, we ask that you make a contribution.
