Kats Fund

Hi, We are a group of close friends of Catherine Sargent (Kat), We are looking to raise funds, for future expenses that will incur during the course of her remaining time with us and anything that her two children may need in the future.

In May, Kat went for an ultrasound as she had felt lumps in her abdomen. The results of the ultrasound confirmed that she had two masses, one being 9cm the other 12cm. Kat was then placed on a two week cancer pathway. A full hysterectomy was performed on June 25th with the hope that they were tumours that mimicked cancer but unfortunately this wasn't to be. The tumours in Kats uterus were believed to be a secondary cancer as her bowel was full of lesions and her surgeon was confident that it was cancer but have been unable to locate the primary cancer. Kat has continued to fill up with fluids since having her surgery which is called Ascites which has caused her no end of discomfort, which has meant she has had to keep going back into hospital to have the fluids drained. After a long wait the tests confirmed it was cancer and unfortunately not curable. The best thing they could do for Kat is buy her time, which was estimated as weeks to months. Within days has gone to weeks to now being days. They believe she has stomach cancer which has spread everywhere which has meant she isn't strong enough for treatment.

As her friends we want to alleviate the financial burden of costs that will arise. To help her children lead their lives the way she would want them to have, and the best we can provide when she is no longer here. Please help us to provide our dearest and slightly crazy but truly special friend the send off that she deserves.
