HELP SUPPORT A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DREAM OF ATTENDING COLLEGE                                                                                                                          PLEASE DONATE TO THE DEBORAH LYNN TAYLOR-SCOTT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

My beloved wife of 29 years was killed in a horrific automobile accident.  On November 9, 2019 in Florence, South Carolina, a 18-wheeler semi-truck came across the median colliding head-on with our vehicle.  My son injuries were so critical he had to Life Flight and I was transported via emergency services to a local hospital.  My wife, Deborah passed away at the scene.  I was notified of my wife death a few hours afterwards awaiting to be take to Intensive Care Unit.  That was the worst day of my life.  My wife was my Soulmate, Best Friend, and #1 Cheerleader.  She was my world; my everything.  She was the foundation and rock of our family.  My wife was the primary care giver to our “special needs” son.

Deborah grew up in a small town in southern Georgia.  She was a very sweet, kind, caring, shy, selfless and loving young girl.  Her family affectionately called her Debbie.  She was the youngest of her siblings and was very active in her community, school and church.  Debbie understood at a young age the importance of “service.”  As a young girl she was a Girl Scout, Majorette, Cheerleader, Christian Book & Writing club, and various organizations at her schools.  She was well loved, respected, admired by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.  A woman of great character and integrity.  Such an Angelic person demonstrated by her good deeds and charitable spirit.
My wife and I grew up in the same town and attended the same high school.  I joined the military after graduating high school.  I had been in the military for a few years when our paths would cross beginning a friendship that quickly turned into a romantic relationship.  Debbie captivated my heart and demanded my attention the moment I laid eyes on her.  More importantly, Debbie’s inner beauty FAR exceeded her outer beauty.  I never meet anyone like my wife; truly a special person that is loved by EVERYONE!  We would get married and she blessed me with our son.  I credit every success I’ve enjoyed in my adult life and military career to my wife.  Her unconditional love, support, dedication and commitment to me was the primary reason I’ve been able to achieve my goals.  She embraced my dreams and goals as if they were her very own.  It’s no easy task to be a military spouse, but Debbie never complained.
She supported Special Olympics, donated/made Baby Gift Basket for young expecting mothers, donated toys/Christmas gifts for kids, and would assist anyone in need.  She dedicated her entire adult life supporting her active duty military husband, and caring for her special needs son.  Debbie charitable spirit and strong desire to serve others will continue to live through the Deborah Lynn Taylor-Scott Memorial Scholarship.
The Deborah Lynn Taylor-Scott Memorial Scholarship will turn our family tragedy in to a positive; helping our youth the future leaders of tomorrow off-set the cost of secondary education.  The scholarship will be awarded annually at Debbie’s Alma mater to a graduating high school student accepted to an accredited college and/or university.  The goal is to start awarding of the scholarships after the beginning of school calendar year fall of 2021.  Your contributions great or small would be very much appreciated.  Debbie’s spirit will LIVE on through all of YOU.
