Medical bills
Don protégé
My Dad arrived in Australia to visit me and my family on the 26th March. I was worried about his health upon arrival, memory issues and confusion. We took him to the doctors on Monday 31 March where the doctor sent him for an urgent CT brain where they've found some sort of mass. The doctor has sent us to the hospital.
Even though my parents are British citizens, paid taxes and receive a British pension because they live in France they aren't eligible for the reciprocal Medicare and so we are liable for all medical fees.
For an overseas visitor just to be seen in ED its almost $1000. Plus whatever tests.
At this moment in time we are sitting in Charlie's ED (after having sat in RPH ED yesterday for 6 hours only to be told to come here). We are unsure what is going to happen but any help would be appreciated.
