Summer Program in Germany

My name is Taylor J. White and I am currently a master's student at Loyola University New Orleans studying Classical voice. I was recently accepted to the summer program at the International Performing Arts Institute (IPAI) in Germany and would deeply appreciate your help in raising funds for tuition and expenses.

 

For the past five years, I have been diligently working and studying towards my career as a professional opera singer. Among my many accomplishments, I graduated summa cum laude from Xavier University of Louisiana and was the recipient of the St. Cecelia Music Award for outstanding musicianship displayed by a graduating senior. I am a member of Opera Créole and have performed with the New Orleans Opera Chorus. Most recently, I programmed and performed an independent recital which featured the premiere of To Meditate in His Temple, a song cycle composed by Dr. Maria Thompson Corley.

 

My passion for music also extends to education, having worked as a music instructor in several programs for young children. Currently I am a voice instructor at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music and the NOLA School of music. As a teacher, I have been blessed to work with many imaginative and bright students whose confidence and skills I work diligently to develop.

 

Participating in IPAI Germany's summer program would provide me with invaluable experience to be an outstanding contributor to my field and a guiding force for my students. I would be studying under international performing artists who have performed on prestigious stages such as the Metropolitan Opera House. I would also be continuing my studies to become fluent in German and would have the opportunity to network with European staging, casting and theater directors.

 

Reaching this point in my education and career has been an immense and wonderful journey. Your helping in continuing that journey would be deeply appreciated.
