Support Jessica's Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Wendy Foote, and my husband Derrick and I have created this GoFundMe to support our niece, Jessica.
Jessica is an incredibly hardworking mom to two wonderful little girls. During this challenging time, we want to ease her burden and ensure she doesn’t have to worry about her home or supporting her daughters. Since we can’t be there in person to help, we believe this is the most meaningful way to support her.
Any amount you can contribute will make a world of difference as Jessica faces a long road to recovery. Rest assured, every dollar raised will go directly to Jessica or her mother, Carrie, who is by her side right now.
We will share updates from Jessica’s mom as we receive them, so you can follow her progress.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
12/27/2024 Appointment today with orthopedic surgeon brought welcomed updates. The transition from a wound vac and moon boots to a stylish Louis Vuitton on the left and a sleek pump on the right is a testament to her progress. Although weight bearing on both feet will take time, today's news was overwhelmingly positive.
*Update from her Mother Carrie: Jess was in a car accident 12/8. She was ejected from her car & found 10 meters away in a field (per EMS). Her injuries are many & her recovery will be long.
She sustained a “double” broken nose, a broken/fractured back, broke/fractured both feet (calcaneus fractures with the right foot involving a very large laceration they believe the bone went thru), broken/fractured shoulder blade (scapula), multiple lacerations with sutures.
She’s in surgery now for the calcaneus fracture & laceration on her right foot. The hopes are that they will be able to suture it closed, but the swelling is extensive & may require a wound vac placement.
Jessica will have a TLSO brace for her back put on & hopefully it will stabilize when they check on X-ray. However, if the TLSO doesn’t stabilize her back so it can heal she will require surgery for that as well.
Please keep her in your prayers as she has a very long road ahead of her. She will not be able to do much for an indefinite amount of time & has her 2 precious girls waiting for her return home.
Update -12/14- From Carrie
Jessica has made enough progress to be discharged home soon, but arranging transportation was a challenge. She requires stretcher transport which required payment up front & that wasn’t cheap but has been arranged.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers & any amount helps
