Covid19 - Peace Of Mind Emergency Food Parcels
Donation protected
PLEASE help us to help asylum seekers and refugees in our region.
Many, many people are being severely challenged at this time but the families and individuals we are trying to support are among the most vulnerable. They are already surviving on very limited budgets but panic buying in the supermarkets means that the cheaper products they can afford to buy, are no longer available. Some local shops to where many of our beneficiaries are living, have even put their prices up. Asylum seekers receive only £37.75 per week on which to live and the government has not announced any extra assistance/recourse to public funds for them in the way that they have for many on benefits at this time. With no money for transport, asylum seekers can not afford to shop further than their feet will take them and for many, leaving their accommodation at all, is not an option due to current restrictions.
We, at Peace of Mind, are doing our very best to help those most in need but we have been inundated with referrals from other charities who are no longer in a position to offer practical assistance themselves, in addition to those known to us already. We are a small organisation with only very limited resources and are urgently seeking help in the form of donations of food and toiletries or financial donations with which we can purchase supplies ourselves and distribute them to those most in need.
Please do get in touch with us if you feel able to help in any way. We remain hugely grateful for any donations, however small.
