A safe place to call home

Hi, my name is Tamara an I need help with the moving cost to help move me and my family. I have lived on my block for the past eight years. Over the past year my family has been caught in the middle of the neighbors drama.

One year ago, an occupant of the house next door stole a vehicle and sent Inkster and Garden City police on a high speed chase around my neighborhood. They crashed the stolen vehicle into the neighbors house two doors down destroying the whole left side to their home.

On October 24,2023 my house was caught in the cross fire when someone came and shot up their house. Two of those bullets hit the front panel of my house near my daughter’s bedroom. On that Occassion, the bullets did not penetrate threw the wall. During that time I was eight and a half months pregnant.

On January 12,2024 my house was shot at 13 times. This time, bullets came flying through my home at 715am while my kids and myself were getting ready to go to work and school. A bullet just missed my daughter while she was sitting on her bed striking her backpack. As I was exiting the shower the bullets were coming by my head..

My children are traumatized after this and terrified to step foot back into that house. Due to so many dangerous occurrences involving my neighbors, we are forced to move right away.

We are a family of eight, Christmas just passed, and I just recently had a baby so right now my finances are low. It’s the middle of the winter and we have to abruptly move. We are being forced to move from a place that we have called home for the past eight years. It would be greatly appreciated if we could get help towards the moving cost so that me and my family can have a safe place to call home. Please anything will help.
