Van for Sawyer Pittsley
My cousin Amber and her husband Dustin have a son named Sawyer. Sawyer has been diagnosed with Isolated Cerebral Dysgenisis, Central Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Insipidus, Cerebral Palsy, Hypo plastic Cerebellum. The doctors aren't clear on what causes Sawyer's deficits, but his cerebellum did not develop fully invitro. The doctors aren't clear on what Sawyer's long term future will look like.
He will be 8 this fall and still isn't able to talk or walk. He takes a cocktail of medications to help with thyroid levels as well as seizures. He takes costly CBD oil that is not covered by insurance. In addition to the expensive medicine, he travels out of state every 3-4 months for a Botox procedure to help reduce spasticity in his muscles that is done under anesthesia. This is also not covered by insurance and cost more than $4000 a year, not including travel expenses and time off of work.
The Pittsley family has had to make major, costly adaptations to their home to accommodate for Sawyer.
The Pittsley family is now in need of a handicapped accessible van to transport Sawyer. Saxon and Lisa Moore with Handicapped Vehicle Sales And Service are helping by providing a handicapped van at a reduced cost. We would like to help raise additional funds to assist in purchasing a modified, Toyota Sienna rear entry accessible van so they can load and unload Sawyer more easily, transporting him to and from school and medical appointments, some in other states. This van would make a huge difference in their daily life. They are currently on a waitlist and Sawyer is first in line to be able to purchase!
If you feel led to give, any contribution you can make will make a difference for this precious family. Every dollar donated really does make a difference and we truly appreciate your consideration.
