Jonathan's Medical Expenses

My name is Crystal Gunther. I have created this to help with the medical expenses for my baby brother. My brother, Jonathan, was in a horrible motorcycle accident October 21st, 2023. He does not have any medical/life insurance right now. He was Life Flighted to the Vanderbilt Trauma ICU where he currently remains for an unknown amount of time. Jonathan received multiple injuries from this accident including a traumatic brain injury, fractured spine, broken clavicle, broken ankle, broken arms and ribs. He has a fractured xiphoid process, stretched retina, and multiple facial fractures. He has already had surgery to remove part of skull to allow room for his brain swelling. Thankfully, they have his intracranial pressure under control at this moment and were able to remove all tubes/drains from his head. He will need multiple surgeries with all the injuries he currently has. He has had a tracheostomy placed to help reduce the risk of infection from having an endotracheal tube. He has good and bad days. He has opened his eyes and followed the nurses with them as well as moved his hand/fingers on command. We are unsure of how long his recovery process will be or as to what function he will recover to. He will end up needing extensive rehab and physical therapy once he is able. We are hoping and praying he recovers with minimal to no deficits. Our family is so focused on being there for him and doing what we can that the last thing we want to worry about is all the medical expenses that are accruing. We would be so thankful for anything and everything!
