Wings Of Love
Donation protected
The Wings Of Love Foundation is a non profit, Christian foundation, based in Livingstone Zambia, which aims to serve the widows and orphans of our rural areas. These areas are neglected, and people often go without basic human needs that so many of us take for granted.
The HIV-AIDS epidemic ravages our continent, our communities and our people, leaving orphans and widows destitute and often hopeless.
Our mission is to show them compassion, to empower them and to offer them the support they need to improve their quality of life and to reintegrate into our community. Through the love of Christ and with restored faith, we believe that these families will be to overcome their obstacles, and go on to live meaningful, fulfilled lives.
We work closely with widows, many who have been driven away by their deceased partner’s relatives, and vulnerable orphans (aged 3-15) who are displaced, abused and end up dropping out or school, because they are left with no resources and very few options.
Our Focus is working with widows and guardians of the orphans, in their own community, to empower and provide them with skills so that they can be self-sufficient.
Kasiya village currently has 27 orphans, but Wings of Love Foundation is only able to sponsor 10 orphans, for their schooling and to provide their basic needs: school fees, uniforms, books, blankets, clothes and food.
The Foundation is currently supporting and empowering 35 widows in various skills.
We are hopeful that through the generosity of kind souls that we may raise funds to help with this important initiative, so that the widows of our community can acquire skills such as tailoring, crocheting, rearing of chickens and goats, embroidering and knitting, to name a few.
The Foundation has acquired 35 acres of land, within Kasiya Village, with plans to build and facilitate:
1. A multipurpose facility to be used by widows and orphans.
2. A homecare for abandoned elderly widows and displaced orphans
3. Recreational services
4. Farming and skills training
We humbly ask for donations so that we may provide them with a borehole for the necessity of clean water, which many are tragically without. We also require funds so that we may provide them with a safe space as our place of operations. Our foundation has decided to use the 35 acres of acquired land for the following:
- Rooms for day programs
- A workshop room for training
- Prayer Room
- Adult classroom
- After school programs
-Storage room
We would like to ensure that the orphans are able to receive education, partake in recreational activities, receive healthcare and have a safe home base, all which are vital for their development.
Through Christ all things are possible.
We would appreciate any and all donations, no amount is too small. It is our hope that we can give these deserving orphans and widows a second chance, a fresh start, renewed faith and hope.
Thank you for your time and donations, God Bless.
