Tim Watson needs your support!

Hi friends, Nic Yates here, Melbourne muso and good mate of Tim Watson. If you haven't heard, Tim had a nasty fall a week ago and to put it frankly has destroyed his ankle. He has multiple fractures, a complete dislocation, tendon and ligament damage and is currently day 9 in hospital. Surgery can't occur until the swelling goes down and despite 2 attempts to relocate the joint, it's not playing nice and is currently held together with an external fixer with his leg immobilised. Yeah, it's pretty crappy situation!
As a musician, Tim lives off gigs and contract teaching (as many of us do) so now finds himself without any income for at least 6 weeks but probably longer. It will be quite some time before he will be back to full time and he will also need ongoing medical care for a significant period while he recuperates. As we all know, the bills don't stop coming.
I have had the privilege to work closely with Tim and he has been amazing support particularly in the past few years which as we know have been far from stellar for our industry. I reached out to Tim and his wife Fi who are very proud and independent people offering to help and seek the support from Tim's friends and our amazing musical community. Although initially reluctant, they acknowledged that any support would be amazing and after a little convincing agreed to let me put this Gofundme page together. As Tim posted, this has been a very traumatic and emotional week for both him and his family and the trauma is far from over.
I am hoping that you can join me in supporting Tim and his family to take a bit of financial pressure off so he can concentrate on getting back to full health and driving us all crazy with his wonderful music and long stories in the near future! I’m well aware that times aren’t great for many in our community however if you can spare a contribution that would be amazing. I am sure Tim will be in touch to thank you personally when he is able.
