Help My Mom Save Her Home
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to share an urgent and heartbreaking situation involving my mom, Teresa Payne. A year ago, she made the brave decision to move to Texas to be closer to me and her granddaughters. As a military family, we’ve lived far from her for most of our daughter’s lives, and she wanted to finally be a part of our daily lives. She packed up everything she owned into an RV, started fresh, and poured her heart and life savings into building a new home here.
She found a fixer-upper and entered into a contract with the owner to make payments toward owning the home outright. My mom worked tirelessly, using her own hands to completely transform the house into a livable home. The house didn’t even have a kitchen when she moved in—she built one from scratch, installed cabinets, hung drywall, laid flooring, and even added new siding to the exterior. Every improvement, big and small, she did on her own. She invested nearly $75,000 into the property and made it her dream home.
She was just about to make her final payment when she discovered the devastating truth: the previous owner had secretly used her home as collateral for another property. That property has now gone into foreclosure, and her home—despite all her hard work and payments—is tied to that foreclosure. The bank is now taking her home, which will go up for auction soon.
Because the deed was never properly transferred to her, my mom has no legal recourse to stop the foreclosure. She is about to lose everything: her savings, her home, and the life she worked so hard to rebuild.
My mom has had a tough life and doesn’t come from much, but she’s one of the hardest-working people I know. She poured her heart, soul, and every dollar she had into this house, only to be lied to and taken advantage of in the worst way.
Now, she’s facing homelessness and the daunting task of starting over yet again. I’m asking for your help to support her during this impossible time. Every donation will go toward helping her find a new place to live and rebuild her life.
If you can contribute or share her story, it would mean the world to us. No one deserves to be treated like this after working so hard to create a home.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you,
