Help Sherry Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christine McVannel. I’m starting a gofundme for women that means a lot to my family and me. My mother, Sherry Rosenthal.
Sherry just turned 57 last week and is a wonderful woman loved by a wonderful husband, 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law and 6 beautiful grandkids.
In early July, my mother went for a routine mammogram and found calcium deposits in both breasts. At that time, the doctors didn't seem worried about the calcium deposits, so there wouldn't be any further testing. Still, a few weeks later, the doctor called my mother back to inform her that they would like to get a biopsy done because the calcium deposits didn't look right like on the mammogram. It took the doctor a while for the biopsy to get scheduled, and on 9-12-22, my mother went to Greenbay, WI, to get the biopsy done. Unfortunately, on 9-15-22, my mother received the news that no woman ever wanted to hear. We found out that my mother has ductal carcinoma that measures 2mm in the right breast. She has the same signs on the left, but the biopsy was negative, so they will also keep a close eye on it.
Today 9-29-22, my mother had her consultant with the specialist to see what the next step will be and what kind of treatment they think would be the best route to go. Their treatment plan is that my mother got referred to surgeon Doctor Tarin for surgery. After surgery, she will be doing 4 - 6 weeks of radiation, and after that, she will be on maintenance medication for 5 years with Doctor Morel.
All the donated funds go to Sherry's treatment and help with surgery costs.
