Phila Berkeley Tragedy Fundraiser

At a 21st Birthday Party, 13 young, intelligent, fit, vibrant, healthy, sporty and close friends went out on a balcony. A tragedy occurred which left 6 of them dead and the remaining 7 fighting for their lives.
The aim of our Fundraising is simply to help. Whether the help is for the families of the deceased, or the survivors, or charities of their choices, or indeed the Trust that has been previously set up to help other families in this situation - we are just helping.
Helping people we have never met, and some we never will meet. These people could be you or I, or our friends, our families... There is only circumstance and good fortune that separates us from them as we all know.
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland. We came across this charity when the Trust offered to pay the cost of repatriation of the 6 young students who tragically lost their lives that night.
My name is Helen, and along with Brian, Liam, Cormac, Damian, Martin, Boomer and Gary we are trying to raise money on behalf of the Irish Community in Philadelphia.
We live in Philadelphia and do not know these people, but felt obliged to help.
We want to hold the money raised in Philadelphia for a few weeks until we know, following direction from the families of the victims, where the money should be directed in honor of their children. It could be divided equally between the families of the 13 victims of this fateful night in Berkeley, or donated fully to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust or donated, if requested, to a charity of their choice in remembrance of their child. We feel, as a group, and hopefully as a community, that our place is not to decide, but our place is to help.
Once Fundraising is complete and we have received clear instructions, we will forward the money immediately.
