My name is Stacey Barnier and I’m on the Board of Directors for the Foothill Rebels Rugby Club. I first met the Cervantes Family at a rugby match in Orange County. I had never felt so welcomed so quickly. It wasn’t but 10 minutes after shaking hands that Ray was helping me set up my chair so I was in the shade and Judy was fixing me and my daughter a plate of ceviche!
Over these last few years, I learned that the Cervantes family will give you the shirt off their back and feed you their last bit of food if you’re in need… it’s just who they are and they are AMAZING. They're always helping me out with the Rebels Rugby Snack Bar (remember the bacon wrapped hot dogs and the breakfast burritos?!). Heck, my daughter was even Derek’s rugby coach and Ray has been a great supporter of my son at his baseball games.
So why did I create this Go Fund Me Account for the Cervantes family you might ask? Well… Ray has been in the hospital off and on for the last several weeks. They aren’t sure what’s causing the issue yet, but in the meantime, Ray is unable to work. The only thing that I could think to do was to help in some way.
We are hoping their friends and family in the rugby, football, baseball, softball, and church communities can come together and help this family that is always helping everybody else. Please know that the proceeds of this account will go directly to the family from Go Fund Me, less the actual fees Go Fund Me charges. Any tips that you submit for directly to Go Fund Me to help manage the platform.
