Urgently evacuate my kids from Gaza

My name is Asmaa, I am fundraising this on behalf of my brother in law Mohammed Arafat. Here is his story:

We would like first to present ourselves as a small ordinary family consisting of myself “Mohamed”, my wife “Alaa” and our two beautiful children Naya and Azzam. Even through the difficult circumstances Gaza has witnessed in the last two decades, my wife and I managed to establish our journey through love, hard work, and a lot of commitment. 

During multiple years we have hardly managed to save a decent amount that meant to pay the downpayment of our dream apartment where the remaining was installed and deducted from both of our salaries. We worked hard to provide a decent life for our children as they were growing before our eyes, our dreams were getting bigger as well. Dreams and plans for better education for the children, a holiday trip, and owning a car. We were fortunate to start achieving some of these dreams in which I managed to save another amount for a secondhand used car. 

Suddenly, everything came apart when such an ugly war started. We lost our beautiful apartment once the whole building collapsed in an airstrike. Along with it, we have also lost the car that was parked in the garage of that same building. 

We have become refugees displaced from one location to another searching for food, clean water, or even a safe zone where I can save my family from the horrors of the war. 

Without a proper job, we no longer have any kind of income and are relying only on humanitarian aid provided by either ordinary people or non-profit organizations. 

Survival has become the key to our daily life. I would have no complaints if it was only for myself as an adult who can bear such unprecedented circumstances. But, in fact, the kids are the ones who break my heart every day. 

Traumatized by the bombardment, insufficient food, health problems from drinking unclean water, and the loss of childhood, my kids are the most fragile. Nevertheless, the most painful thing is the incapable feeling that I have when I cannot help my kids while they are looking at me every day expecting me to act. We have survived the bombardment, airstrikes, shootings, winter cold, and lack of water and food, but surviving bacterial/viral infections and other diseases related to bad nutrition, unclean water, and polluted air would be extremely impossible. Knowing that my eight-year-old son started to lose hair out of fear.

Unfortunately, after spending more than 8 months, we can’t put up with this situation anymore. We are looking forward to evacuating immediately from Gaza in order to survive and have a normal life where we can raise our children peacefully and start building a new life. For this, we need an amount for permit fees to cross the border. The border crossing permit fee for an adult will cost nowadays 5 thousand USD dollars, and for a minor will cost 3 thousand USD dollars. In addition, the amount for accommodation, food, clothes, and building a new life.
