Please Help: I am homeless and at risk.
Hello my Name is Randall, I am 21 and trying to get my life back on track. I graduated from High School in 2017. That same year my mother passed from cancer, just two months after my 18th birthday and a month before graduation. She had been diagnosed the beginning of my freshman year of high school. She was a single mother which meant when she passed all I had was my older brother Cameron(28). Not too long after my graduation I jumped right from high school to the workforce because I was unable to go to school while taking care of all the issues life had thrown at me. I have worked jobs before but I wasn't prepared for my mother's passing. After a few months my brother left me with the burden of our mother's home, and I have been on my own ever since. I tried selling the home but no attorney I came across would take less than 3k and I don't have that type of income. So instead of selling my home, which I could not afford to do, I worked every job I could find that paid me well enough to pay the mortgage on the house and the bills that came with it, I did this all by myself at 18. This went on for two years.
During this time I got in trouble with law enforcement and received a nonviolent misdemeanor.
One bad thing after another, in Jan 2019 the mortgage company got wind of me paying the bills and realized my mother had passed, which resulted in the home's foreclosure in March. I have been homeless ever since, jumping from couches to dorm rooms.
During my case, I was given the option of a 3
month diversion program but was denied because I was homeless. I can still enter the program and clear my record but I need a place of residence first(for at least 3months)*.
*I am asking for help to get back on my feet. For the next place I live I will need first, second, and last months rent ( if not last then a security deposit depending on the apartment ), I will also need funds for the diversion program. Once I get a place to live, and I am ABLE to work, then I will get a job to support myself throughout the diversion program. **
**Update (06/25/2020): Thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of their day to read, share, and donate! It truly takes a village! Thanks to the community, the goal of five thousand dollars has been reached! Since this went so well ( we were terrified it would not and he would continue to be homeless ) we will be raising to goal to SEVEN thousand dollars. These extra funds raised will help Randall in getting a used vehicle, and start off his savings fund, which can be used in times of crisis ( random medical bills, emergencies, car repairs, food, etc...). Please continue to follow this story as updates are posted randomly throughout the week. Thank you so much to all the people who continue to share, Randall is a bright-minded individual who was done a disservice when his mom died. Please continue to share in efforts to help him start his life and put his past behind him.
Any donation counts and is appreciated. Please share if you cannot donate. Thank you so much for your time.
