Xavier get Back on Track

Hello Friends,

As many of you are aware Xavier has been battling cancer this year. In January he was diagnosed with an Osteo Sarcoma, growing in his lower spine/tailbone area. The best treatment for this type of tumour is a combination of Radiation, Chemotherapy and Surgery. On the day of diagnosis we were told this cancer has come about because of the radiation he had 10 years earlier and that surgery is not an option because of the position of the tumour. Because Xavier had so much radiation 10 years ago to treat his Ependymoma he can't have anymore. Difficult prognosis for him. The amazing team at Peter Mac did some more research and decided that the best course of action would be chemotherapy and radiation that uses carbon atoms. So in February, he began a grueling program of a combination of chemotherapy. At this stage, he is two-thirds of the way through, with 8 weeks to go. After he finishes the chemotherapy we will head to Japan for radiation treatment. The best place to get Carbon radiation is in a hospital in Tokyo.

We want to help Xavier get Back on Track.

While he has been busy with chemotherapy and fighting his tumor, he has missed out on working and saving money. We all know how much Xavier loves his job driving tractors and harvesting silage. So much so that 7 days after one of his chemotherapy sessions, he spent his day driving the Jag to harvest our maize!! However he then spent the next 2 days totally exhausted in bed.

He has really missed being part of a team and working with farmers in the area, as well as 4WDing and hanging out with his mates. He was planning on buying a house in 2023, but as he has been unable to work because of his treatments he has not been able to save any more money for a home loan deposit.

He is so keen to get back to work and get his life back on track.

Hopefully, when we return from Japan once the radiation treatment is complete he will be able to start work again. But he has lost almost a year of savings.
