Dr. John Cobb, Concert Pianist

As his fans, students and friends are aware, Dr. John Cobb, a world class concert pianist, has recently undergone complex life-saving surgery wherein a permanent mechanical alternative to a heart transplant was implanted to assist his failing heart. The success of this procedure involved intense vetting of John, his wife, Gwenn, and son Morgen, to confirm John's eligibility, and Gwenn's capability to manage ongoing delicate medical tasks (with Morgen as back-up). They were also required to make costly modifications to their home that are essential to maintaining John's health and management of the implanted device.

Since early November, John has has had two hospitalizations and faces a lengthy recovery from this complex surgery, rendering him unable to teach his students or perform. Gwenn's earnings are, and will continue to be, negligible while John is homebound requiring her constant care.  Prior to John's going home, post surgery, it was necessary to install new bedroom flooring, upgrade electrical service to be compatible with his special medical equipment and clothing, and a vast number of medications not fully covered by insurance -  all of this while their earnings are suspended. Thankfully, John is recovering beyond his medical team's expections; however, since neither he nor Gwenn can resume their normal work schedules and earnings for some time yet,  the generosity of fans, students, friends, other musicians, or kind souls will be greatly appreciated.
