This is my sweet 10 year old nephew DJ Patterson. He needs all the prayers he can get right now. We are asking that you share this with as many prayer warriors that you know. DJ was diagnosed with Ewing like Sarcoma in February 2018. He went through a total of 13 chemo rounds and 31 rounds of radiation. He finished his final round of chemo the week of December 2nd hoping that would be the end of his long journey of kicking cancers butt. Unfortunately, end of treatment scans show that the cancer never went away completely. The chemo killed the initial tumor but two more have shown up. They discovered one in his right side and one in his left pubic bone. Dj has a very long road ahead of him beginning with more intense chemo expected to start the week of January 14th along with the stem cell harvest. He will be given 2-5 more rounds of intense chemo depending on the imaging showing that the tumors are gone. This will be done every 4 weeks. After that he will have stem cell rescue. There will most likely be a surgery involved that will include giving DJ a feeding tube. The doctors have tried to prepare Dennie and Barb with what lies ahead. Dennie and Barb have their complete trust in Akron Childrens Oncologists. The treatment plan that was presented to them was put together by a Childrens Oncology Group. Dennie and Barb have been by DJ's side through all of this. They promised DJ from the beginning that they were going to fight this together as a family and they have so far. Dennie was scheduled to go back to work the first of the year, this has now been put on hold. Barb has been set up by her employer to work from home whenever she is not able to make it in. Nobody could imagine the financial burden that this puts on a family.
