Help Kim walk again

Donation protected
On February 8, 2016 Kim suffered a cerebral hemhorrage. She was swiftly taken by EMS to the ER. Thanks to God and the great work of the ER staff of GHS she survived a stroke that is most often unsurvivable. Kim spent 3 weeks in neuro-ICU, mainly because of aspiration pneumonia and 2 weeks of inpatient therapy before being released to go home. After a couple of difficult weeks at home, she started out-patient therapy. Despite all the proper conventional treatment and therapy, she still has problems with lingering facial paralysis on her right side that causes balance issues. The inability to balance keeps her from walking freely and confidently on her own.

Several months ago, we learned from a good friend, of a treatment from strokebreakthrough.com that sounds promising. We contacted the Institute of Neurological Recovery there and found out the treatment is not covered by insurance and the treatment could cost as much as $10,000. We set the asking amount at $10,000 and any funds raised over the amount needed for the treatment will be used to pay outstanding medical bills that Kim has accumulated due to her stroke. The need is urgent. The inability to walk has kept Kim from working and participating in the activities she did prior to the stroke.
