Update:
Brave little Ashley passed away peacefully with her Lord and her family surrounding her with love.
I would be remiss if I didn’t say “Thank you.” Your generous gifts lifted pressure off the family. But this chapter is not yet over
And I just want to encourage you to, along with us, give one more push. So let’s share this story, and if you’re able to give or give again.
Let's help this family one more time.
Thank you and God bless.

Meet Ashley:
the most giving 12 year old girl with a smile bigger than life. She’s a lover of all things art and cooking, and she loves school - specifically math and science. However, this all came to sudden halt on December 9th, 2016, when she was diagnosed with leukemia. This devastating news flipped the Aguirre family’s world upside down. Immediately, Ashley began to receive intensive chemotherapy which drastically weakened her immune system and left her susceptible to infection. Consequently, a critical infection began to spread rapidly on the left side of her face which lead her to undergo more than 16 surgeries in attempts to contain the infection. Through this difficult time, Ashley never lost hope; she kept dreaming for a future free of sickness, a dream that motivates her family to remain strong. She has kept her vibrant spirit through it all, and is constantly sharing with those around her and finding ways to make little gifts for people. She enjoys drawing and painting to pass the time.

In 2017, Ashley went into remission. With only months away from being declared cancer free, the symptoms returned. After running the appropriate tests, the Aguirre family received the devastating news that the leukemia had returned. Ashley had just begun to go back to school to regain her normal life routine, but was forced to leave that behind to commence chemotherapy once again. The first round of aggressive chemotherapy was comprised of 15 sessions in only 5 days which brought some major side effects, namely neuropathy in her lower extremities. The doctors had to cease treatment due to her worsening condition. Due to these major complications, she is now in the hospital, in bed with very little mobility in her legs. She is currently on intense pain killers like morphine to dull the constant pain.

The Aguirre family is one of the most giving families I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They bring joy, kindness, and wise counsel to everyone around them. Even through the midst of the pain, they have been able to be beacons of hope to other families that are going through similar situations. Although the Aguirre family has been bravely dealing with this situation, it has consequently brought immense financial difficulty. They spend most of their time at the hospital, which takes its financial toll on a family of 6. We have created this page in an attempt to help them through this difficult time. This money will help cover expenses from previous and future surgeries, medications, and prosthetics. We hope that through your support and generosity, we may be able to decrease some of the burden that is placed on this beautiful family.
