Dearest Family and Friends,

Our sister, Juliana Taber, was diagnosed approximately two years ago with MSA-C. Multiple System Atrophy (MSA-C) is a rare, degenerative neurological disorder affecting your body's involuntary (autonomic) functions, including blood pressure, breathing, bladder function and muscle control.

Formally called Shy-Drager syndrome, MSA shares many Parkinson's disease-like symptoms, such as slow movement, rigid muscles and poor balance. This disease attacks speech and swallowing and so little is known about this disease and there is very little research being done.

We have included a link below from the Mayo Clinic regarding this disease which is rapidly developing for Juliana. Please understand that there is NO CURE and NO TREATMENT for this disease. The condition progresses gradually and eventually leads to death.

Juliana, and her husband Bruce, live in a two story home with all bedrooms and full baths upstairs. We are starting this Gofundme page in order to help them raise money to add an additional bedroom and full bathroom in their downstairs area, and help to make their home wheel chair accessible.

As difficult as this has been for Juliana, she continues to do everything in her power to keep the progression of this disease at bay through assisted exercise, faith, and prayer. Her strength and resilience has been a lesson of hope and determination for all who know her. With the support of her loving husband, family and friends, she is determined to fight this battle and not accept defeat.
