Update:
You are all so generous, thank you for the support. Tragically, Brenda lost her fight today. Please keep her family in your thoughts and hearts while they navigate this difficult time.
Hi, my name is Jolynn and I am raising funds for lifelong family friends, the Pauley’s. This will be a bit long so please read all the way to the end, and thank you in advance for your time and help!
The last few years have been hard for them. Earl went on full disability due to a major heart condition, and Brenda followed shortly thereafter due to MS, both of these nasty diseases taking away the financial freedom people who worked so hard should have. Thankfully, their daughter Erin has been willing and able to contribute to the household, keeping them afloat and learning how to navigate the rocky waters they had been plunged into as a family. Life was good! They were happy and doing the best with what they had but most importantly, still had each other.
Late in 2023, Brenda starts feeling very ill and decides to go to the ER to get treatment for her symptoms, only to learn the devastating news she also has Pancreatic cancer. Because of MS, aggressive chemotherapy is not an option as her already compromised body can’t handle the harsh side-effects of the treatments. She tries, however, to extend her time and enjoy her family, bravely facing the unknown and trying a few experimental treatments, when tragedy strikes again. Their family home catches fire in early 2024 and they lost almost everything. Thankfully, their homeowner’s insurance is acting fast and getting them help with temporary lodging, but temporary is the key word. To yet again add to the bad news, during all of this, we learned the chemo isn’t working and Brenda’s options are incredibly limited. She’s decided to enter hospice care and live the rest of life feeling as best she can.
I set up this page for Erin and Earl in hopes of letting focus more on being there with and for Brenda and not having to worry about financial losses that will accompany all of these horrible chapters in their book of life, and to help prepare for the loss of their wife and mother. Please consider donating and/or sharing. Any amount will be greatly appreciated!
