Born Late Records and Tattoo Zoning
Donation protected
Born Late Records and Tattoo was built on the concept of having an all inclusive record/vintage store AND tattoo studio. Owners Brittany Elliott and Henry Vasquez share their love for music and wanted to do something unique with their shop, therefore having a record shop for tattoo clients to browse in and listen to records while waiting to be tattooed. The city of Fort Worth has recently rezoned this area as an "Urban Village" and will not allow the couple to open the tattoo studio. The entire point of this endeavor was to open a UNIQUE and totally one of a kind place, so just having the record store will not suffice. Henry had a record store in Fort Worth years ago called Archie's Rock Shop, which did not survive due to the economy, so we want to bring it back better and stronger than ever with Brittany's tattoo element involved. Brittany was featured on Season 2 of the Oxygen Channel's "Best Ink" and does bright, solid, clean tattooing.
Please help the fight for Born Late Records and Tattoo. It is going to take a lot of convincing as well as a lot of cash to make the city change their minds on this subject. It costs $1,000 just to go in front of the zoning board for them to POSSIBLY approve it, nothing is certain. Then another $1,000 for the tattoo licensing and other fees. Every day that we are not open, we are losing about $500. The city still thinks tattooing is a taboo business and do not want a tattoo studio on this street. We want to show them that not all tattooed people are criminals and thugs. We will specialize in high quality, professional tattooing by appointment only.
Thank you all for your help and support!! Let's make this one of FORT WORTH'S FINEST!
