Goat Barn Rebuild Wise Woman Center
Donation protected
Dear Everyone Concerned,
I have created this account on behalf of the memory of Susun Weeds eight goats and five rabbits whose earthly bodies perished Saturday night in a barn fire. Those eight goats: Ereshkigal, Isis, Estarte, Aurora, Estrella, Baubo, Tara, and Aditi suffered a horrific death that I am responsible for. That night after milking the goats I left the barn without blowing out a candle, which I had been intructed to do numerous times. When I got to the fence I didn't stop and look back to make sure the candle was out, as I had been told numerous times to do. After I got inside, I didn't ask myself if I blew the candle out and go back to check, another simple thing I neglected to do. These were my choices, and I must live with the consequences. An hour after I left the barn the whole thing was ablaze.
The waves of grief are hurling me around. But I am not allowed to feel guilty, to blame myself, or feel ashamed. These are emotions that get in the way of remorse. I am forever indebted to Susun for killing her precious animals. Those goats were the result of years of breeding a superior line. No money can replace what I have deprived her of. All I can do is move forward and so I am asking people to donate here in an effort to rebuild the barn, so that it can again be the home of life and learning. Seeing money coming in towards this goal helps me in the healing process.
I came to the Wise Woman Center to grow, to learn, and to create strength within myself. The Godesses had a bigger lesson then I could have ever imagined. Taking responsibility for this tragedy and moving forward is what I have to do now. Every second I must remind myself to be more present, and this is something I am even still struggling with. Those animals died for me to take my power, and I must not let them die in vain. I owe them and Susun that much at least.
I know that so many people are grieving this loss, and I feel all of your pain. Thank you for your tears, those animals were well loved and I am aware of the many people who have strong connections with them. They were great healers, great teachers, herbalists, Godesses, Mothers, and Wise Women. I hope that this fund will be the start of the next chapter at the farm. The earth has been scorched, the surrounding trees are injured, and the healing plants are gone. So much work is to be done. Please help with however you can. Money, letters, prayers all are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for hearing me
With Love,
