Save The Dog

My name is John Fisher, I was attacked by bees in Florence AZ, this was an unprovoked attack. I am wheelchair bound. I was in my exercise chair with my dog at the time. I let the dog go after the wheelchair flipped. He was able to escape. However, he was still stung, many many times. Unlike me, he is allergic to bee stings. I got stung over 250 times with no reactions other then trama reactions. Though long lasting kidney damage may be possible. He ran off and the neighborhood rallied and was able to find him. He did not make it to the emergency vet until 3 hours later. He stayed overnight and was discharged. However, we thought he was getting better, and it seemed to be so until we took him in this afternoon to the vet(Johnson Ranch Animal Clinic). He is unfortunately, back in critical condition. Looks to be reactions to the bee sting toxins. We don’t have all the details at this time, but hospitalization for at least a few more days is going to happen. He is back in the danger zone. We are already at 4 thousand dollars we put for the emergency vet and we are looking at a lot more.

Update on Pippin 5/25/23

I released Pippin as I was immobile. It now appears as though Pippin did not leave the area completely and in an act of unbelievable courage tried returning to attempt to help me. Although the bees kept me from seeing him as they were going for my eyes nose and mouth. The amount of bee venom in his bloodstream suggests this. My rescue dog has endured so much with such loyalty and a loving heart for his people. These people include his family but also everyone in his recovery. Once I was taken to the hospital the community started to search for him, but he had run into someone’s garage to escape. The time between when the attack happened and me getting to the hospital was less than a half hour, but it is hard for me to judge the time precisely. The 3-hour delay appears to mainly do to trying to locate him. His current condition is he is still hospitalized and is now getting a blood transfusion as his immune system started attacking itself. The good news is the bee toxins are decreasing and it is hoped that he will respond well to the blood transfusion he is getting today. He is currently at Gilbert Queens Creek Emergency Veterinarian Center which is one of the best in the area. Thank you for your help in saving him. Update on Pippin 5/26/23

Pippin's release from Gilbert Queens Creek Emergency Veterinarian Center. Although he is not completely out of the woods and must have bloodwork every few days to make sure his immune system and red blood cell levels stay in a healthy range.
