Home for the Holidays

Donation protected
I lost my apartment in 2020 after getting sick with COVID and then long COVID. The landlord didn't renew my lease, and I couldn't fight it. I was able to get back into housing last year. I'm trying so hard to re-enter the work force and have had some good interviews, but nothing has materialized yet. My landlord has filed for eviction, despite previous communications otherwise. I wish I could go somewhere else, but it was hard to find anyone willing to work with me. My heater isn't working, the refrigerator hasn't worked in months, and they have yet to address the leaking AC compressor on the roof causing flooding in the apartments downstairs.

They have said that if it's paid before court, they will dismiss. Just in time for winter and the holidays.

Thank you so much for your support.

UPDATE: Court was moved to December 7, which now means December rent will need to be paid to stay. I've had something come up in the meanwhile that could potentially turn into a paid position, but I don't want to say too much yet. I'm excited for it, though! It might take a while to get there, so I'm hoping to cover rent and utilities for a few months until either that happens or another job comes along.

Thanks so much, and happy holidays!
