The Road to Recovery: A Cross-Canada Cycling Trek
Donation protected
We are embarking on an inspiring journey – a cross-Canada cycling adventure we call "The Road to Recovery." Our mission is to raise awareness and funds for the interconnected issues of mental health, homelessness, substance use, and brain injury, which affect millions of Canadians every day. These challenges are often intertwined, and addressing one can have a ripple effect on the others. We have chosen to donate all proceeds raised from this campaign to the Cowichan Brain Injury Society, an amazing organization located in Duncan, BC, that offers support, education, and advocacy for individuals affected by brain injuries and their families.
The "Road to Recovery" campaign will take us from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast, covering over 7,000 kilometers and connecting with communities of all sizes. Along the way, we will share powerful stories of resilience, strength, and hope, collaborate with local organizations, and raise awareness about the complex challenges faced by those grappling with mental health, homelessness, substance use, and brain injuries.
But we can't do it alone. We need your help to make this journey a reality and support the vital work of the Cowichan Brain Injury Society. Your donations will go directly towards:
1. Funding support services, educational programs, and resources offered by the Cowichan Brain Injury Society.
2. Covering essential travel expenses (e.g., food, accommodations, bike maintenance) for our cross-Canada cycling trek.
3. Creating and distributing educational materials to raise awareness about mental health, homelessness, substance use, and brain injuries.
4. After expenses, our goal is to donate all funds raised to the CBIS Men’s Shed program.
No donation is too small, and every dollar counts. Together, we can make a difference and help those in need to find their own "Road to Recovery."
We will document our journey through social media, blog updates, and video diaries, so you can join us every step of the way. Please consider sharing our GoFundMe page with your friends, family, and networks to help us reach our goal and support this important cause.
Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of our journey. Together, we can create a brighter future for those struggling with mental health, homelessness, substance use, and brain injuries.
