Beautiful Shawna (fka Lilly) and her unborn puppies were scheduled to be euthanized along with 26 other dogs at the Columbus Co Animal Shelter in NC. The caring shelter advocates reached out for help and Reach Out Rescue committed to help save them at the 11th hour. Shawna was found as a stray. At the time no one knew she was carrying a litter of precious puppies and about to deliver in a few weeks. After arriving at her foster home Shawna gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies. Unfortunately she lost one, but together we still saved 6 lives. After Shawna went to the vet we also found out she is heart worm positive. Treating a HW+ mom and providing medical care for 5 puppies is expensive and we need your help. HW treatment alone can range from $800 to $1000. Shawna will begin treatment as soon as her pups are weaned. Shawna and her puppies will all be available for adoption once they are weaned and receive the medical attention they need and deserve.
