Molly&Olivia Plus Size Fashion Doll

My name is Bradley Langley, and I never grew up. I was lucky enough to be raised by a mother who did everything she could to keep my childlike imagination alive, and she succeeded.
It fueled my desire to make sure the next generation of kids feels just as nurtured and loved as I did. That's why I created Molly&Olivia — to inspire adventure, excitement, and self-acceptance.
Molly&Olivia are two young women living the dream in New York City. They're fashion bloggers with their fingers on the pulse of what drives the art scene from their apartment in Brooklyn.
Still, there's something very specific that sets Molly Holiday and Olivia VonTossle apart from other dolls on the shelf: they're plus sized.
While I love Barbie and her like sized friends, I think it's time that the plastic kingdom gained some variety.
Not only are we getting two body positive dolls (and a killer wardrobe to match!), Molly&Olivia is a statement to everyone that beauty knows no mold. No matter what size you are, you can feel gorgeous in your own skin and empowered to go out into the world and crush it.
The funds contributed will go towards product development and creating the in-hand prototypes of the dolls. We'll be working with Sonos Product Development Consultants in three phases.
Phase One(3-4 weeks turnaround time):
Initial Conceptual Development. This is planning with manufacturers to create the initial physical idea. They take my conceptual vision and help tool it into a tangible object.
The projected budget for Phase 1: $3, 228.24 for each doll
Phase Two(2-3 weeks turnaround time):
Refining the concept. This is where artwork and concepts get finalized and color/fabric approval for their apparel is determined.
This is also the phase where all the graphic artwork is created. This includes packaging, web art, e-commerce solutions(if needed). Everything is production ready and scaleable.
The projected budget for Phase 2: $2, 151.08 for each doll
Phase 3(3-5 weeks turnaround time):
Fabrication. This is the big show- Molly Holiday and Olivia VonTossle are created in all their fashionable glory. This is a fully functional prototype doll used for press, product testing, investors, etc.
The projected budget for phase 3: 4,985.60 (TBD based on Phase 2 Specs) for each doll
Your contributions will fund the first step on a journey that may seem like a modest idea, but it can mean the world to a child who longs to see themselves represented in the toy aisle. Lets get Molly and Olivia out there to the world. Together we can bring some body positive empowerment to the toy aisles.
