Share Care with Alex

Near the end of January, Alex Short woke up with an intense burning sensation in his left eye. At first, he thought he had merely scratched his cornea in his sleep, but after an emergency trip to the doctor, his prognosis was much, much worse. Not only was there an initial injury to his eye, but Alex had also contracted a mysterious infection that has resisted all forms of treatment attempted so far as it continues to destroy his eye.

Now, several weeks after the initial infection, Alex has endured multiple excruciating surgeries most of which without any effective pain management. As his cornea continues to peel off in sections, he has effectively lost sight in his left eye as his medical team still has not been able to identify, isolate, or stop the infection.

As you can imagine, this crisis has left this husband and father currently unable to work. He is currently without income as medical and other living expenses continue to roll in. Please help the Short family through this difficult time.
