THOR Ministry (Homeless Housing)

Happy Wednesday family & friends. **Sorry for the length of this post but it's my heart!! As some of you know, my family formed a Non-Profit Corp a few months ago and it is called THOR Ministry (Transitional Housing Option Relief) We are buying travel trailers to put at RV/Trailer parks to house homeless families we meet that have kids. I will keep this post as short as possible! What we are doing is trying to get families (especially with children) that are homeless, into temporary housing. Homelessness is such an epidemic in the Bay Area and we know we cannot help everyone but we are being faithful to an area God put on our hearts. Most people on the street DO NOT want to live this way but there are many different reasons why they became homeless. Loss of job, rent increases, abusive relationships...We've met people that are completely on the streets, some live in their cars if they have one, and others hold up signs trying to get enough$$ to sleep in a motel one day at a time. We encourage them to get connected with the right organizations to get some kind of government assistance during this transition period. We have even connected them with companies hiring in their specific line of work experience. Our goal is to equip these families with hope and a place to call home within a temporary time frame where they can get on their feet, find jobs and eventually find an apartment or other permanent housing. I'm so excited to share that we are closing our first purchase and have a wonderful family ready to move in on Friday. This couple has 2 daughters 1 & 2.5 yrs old and have just fallen on hard times over and over again. God has been so faithful and has placed this desire in each of my family members hearts to reach people where they are, no matter the circumstance. Our next goal is to build a website for THOR which will have more details, pictures and videos, but for now since we have not set that up I would like to ask you to pray for our ministry. We need prayer warriors lifting up potential families, pray for affordable trailers to be found (the trailers we're looking at are from 6-9 yrs old and cost min.$10000) and last pray about our finances. Once we get a webpage we will have banking info where you can make donations directly to THOR's account but until then if you are able to make a donation now you can make a check out to THOR Ministry and mail it to our home: 1193 Matterhorn Dr. San Jose, CA 95132 The money we receive from donors goes to purchase more trailers, pay for Insurance, DMV fees and some supplies to put in the trailers since these families are coming in with only the clothes they have.
