Hi! I'm Gubgub (picture taker), and we are Monstergarten (pictured). We need help again.

It was 2023 when I first came here asking you to help our queer lil family pay rent and bills while I was out of work and in a substance use treatment program. [Incidentally, I'll be 3 years sober this fall! ]

Pardon the unpolished new family pic—but it's honestly a great encapsulation of how our 2026 is going so far. I took this at a much-needed Husband Diner Night the three of us treated ourselves to recently. I was sitting there chatting with my Monsters, exhausted physically and emotionally (from a BIG-feels-and-mutual-sobbing-session we'd just had at home, hence the diner) and I just thought, "I love these two so much, I want to update my phone lock screen to save this moment. " So I did.

Now it's 2026, and nothing is mediocre. It's either (1) horrific oppression and violence and Global Crisis, OR (2) I love these two(2) AND our lease is up and we're moving to a new, bigger home soon☺️. (However, it's also 2026 and Aly's turn to take a mental health leave to enter intensive outpatient therapy. Incidentally, they're doing amazing, and are back part-time at the library, and I'm v. proud to be their government husband.) Really it's time for all three of us to need, and get, a lot of big sobbing sessions and emotional support! Stuff is fucking hard rn.

All of this and more add up to: I'm reopening this donation page to help us close the gap on moving expenses! Our dream house is not yet a reality and time is running out, so IF you haven't the funds to help us out right now (it is, after all, 2026 for everyone)—maybe just send us up a spell/prayer/'good luck'/whatever?
