Help Me Evacuate My Family To Safety

My name is Rula Ibrahim, and I'm writing to you from Gaza, Palestine, under circumstances that I never imagined I would have to share. I'm 23 years old, a recent graduate from the College of Law, and my dreams were as big as the sky above. But now, that same sky is filled with the terrifying sounds of bombing and missiles, a stark backdrop to the life I'm living and the story I'm about to tell.
Before the 7th day of October, I had a beautiful life in all aspects - family, social, educational and financial as well - but after this day my life changed completely and it is more fair to say that it was marginalized, distorted and all my dreams and goals were eliminated.
Since the first day of the war, I have been displaced from my home with my family of (13) members including children and the elderly, from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip. We were displaced from one place to another 5 times in order to find a safe place, My family and I are facing another war of attempts to survive and stay in the face of this ominous war and the demands of life that have become difficult to obtain.
During the past five months and until now, we have not been able to return to our lives, our warm home, our possessions, even our memories, as they were all taken from us by force and we were deprived of them for no reason. We hope to return to them as soon as possible and for this nightmare to end.
The war did not stop at this, but it took away our loved ones and our families, as I lost (7) members of my family as a result of being directly targeted by the Israeli occupation, despite their innocence, It also separated us from my father, as my father was confined to the north and we were to the south, and throughout the war we were unable to see each other due to the separation of the cities of Gaza from each other, the prevention of movement there, and the concentration of Jews within them.
A month before the war, my father opened a cosmetics center in which he invested all his financial savings, but the building was targeted and the entire center was burned with all the goods inside it, Thus, my father lost everything he owned in the blink of an eye.
Also, my niece "Ayla" is a three-year-old child with special needs, as her condition requires continuous medical care and physical therapy from a specialist doctor, but she did not receive it throughout the war, she also needs specialized food, as it is difficult to obtain it due to the absence of most foodstuffs in the markets, and given the deteriorating health and nutritional situation in the Gaza Strip, it may affect her health negatively in the future if this distress lasts for a long time.
Moreover, we are now exhausting what remains of our savings in an attempt to keep up with the high cost of living in order to secure food, water, cooking gas, and everything that guarantees us to live in dignity, despite the difficulty of this matter.
The situation has reached a critical point, and unfortunately there is nowhere is safe in Gaza and the only way to survive this is to travel outside. To do so we urgently need need to raise $70,000. This amount will cover the costs of secure passage out of Gaza, which includes transportation, temporary accommodation, and basic necessities until we can find refuge. Every penny will go directly towards our escape from the daily terror we live under. Here’s a breakdown of how the funds will be utilized:
Travel Expenses To Egypt:
- Adults: $5,000 each, totaling $45,000 for all adults.
- Minors: $2,500 each, totaling $10,000 for all minors.
This accounts for $55,000 of our total goal, ensuring each family member can reach safety.
Temporary Accommodation: With the $15,000 remaining, a significant portion will address our need for immediate shelter once we reach safety.
Basic Necessities and Health Care for Ayla: This fund also prioritizes our basic needs
So, after enduring 151 days of this war and the ongoing genocide we are being subjected to in Gaza, I have made this difficult decision, which is to seek assistance to evacuate my family of (13) persons to find safety amidst the relentless bombing and hunger that plagues our community.
This is why I’m asking for your help, we fear for our lives and the lives of our loved ones. We humbly appeal to your compassion and generosity to help us raise the necessary funds for our evacuation. Your support will provide us with the means to escape death and seek refuge in a place where we can peacefully live free from the constant threat of violence. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our journey towards safety and peace. Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. I am not asking you for help for me alone, but this aid will help all the displaced (because I am one of them).
The donated funds will be transferred to me through the host of this campaign, my uncle Raed Zaqoul, who lives in Saarbrücken city, Saarland state, Germany.
